Ant-Zen, Hymen, and others on Beatport

Get your awesome on.

This thrills me to no end. I ordered a lot of music a few years ago, always attempting to order with local distros or others. Now instant gratification is attainable.

Players and essential listening under the cut, in this series I list some hymen albums that need some love. Tomorrow I will do the same with Ant-Zen. There’s a player at the end of all of this. Beatport you need to fix your flash player.

Hymen Essential listening:

Converter - Exit Ritual

This was an interesting time in Rhythmic noise, this release has droney textures and complex poly rhythms.. it both rocks and hurts at the same time. Very inspirational release proving that it doesn’t all have to grind your brains out.

Xanopticon - Liminal Space
This was a really good release, his “breakcore” if you can even call it that, creates a textured wall of beats. More akin to glitch but even beyond that. This really really comes off more as dubby if anything. I loved this release.

And now for something completely different.

Snog vs. the Faecal Juggernaut of Mass Culture

To me this may not be the best Snog release of all time, my favorite is “Buy me I’ll change your life” but this is still really really good. It’s a huge album. Snog has this way of making you want to go smash all your local big box stores, and burn down a starbucks. Snog is definitely essential listening. The possibilities of hard electronic folk are endless. David Thrussel reminds me of Johnny Cash, but not a fundie.
